Elke is a psychologist with over 20 years of counselling experience. She has a Masters degree in counselling psychology and a doctorate in clinical psychology. Elke works with people on a vast range of issues including depression and anxiety, postnatal depression and parenting issues, trauma, grief and loss, life direction, and adjustment issues. Elke believes that treatment needs to be customized to the individual client, the client's presenting concerns and personality style. She draws on a vast range of evidence-based therapeutic modalities such as cognitive behavior therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, schema therapy, interpersonal psychotherapy, and solution-focused therapy. Elke has a passion for assisting people to bring out their best and enhancing their enjoyment of life.

Her professional interests include depression, anxiety, relationship issues, life direction and satisfaction, transition, grief, post traumatic growth and positive psychology.

Tim McPherson

Psychologist


         

Tim is a registered Psychologist and member of the Australian Psychological Society. He has a Master's Degree in clinical psychology and has passion for working with young people to address emerging mental health concerns.

 

Tim works with people of all ages and has a strong background in psychological interventions for addiction. He prides himself on a client-centred framework, drawing on the individual strengths of clients to assist with whatever has brought them to counselling. Seeing a psychologist for the first time can be really daunting; Tim works to foster a non-judgemental therapeutic space in which clients can explore their worries in a way that works best for them.

 

Tim is experienced at working with a wide range of issues including anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, relationship difficulties, and anger management. Tim helps clients to develop strategies and skills that are tailored to their specific circumstances as this forms an important part of what makes psychotherapy effective. This work often draws from elements of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, and Motivational Interviewing.
