With the promise of good weather and summer coming, we all have our own goals that we want to achieve. For some people, this goal is to lose weight while for others, this may be to quit smoking, reduce drinking, or to increase healthy eating and gym attendance. At The Red Couch, we recognize that it can be hard to know where to start, how to set the right goals and to maintain motivation for the things that keep us healthy. So we've designed a 3 session program that uses goal directed techniques and hypnosis to get you achieving that healthy body and healthy mind.
The program that we've created at The Red Couch targets specific health goals, and supports you to move towards them. These goals can include weight loss, drinking less alcohol, smoking cessation, regular exercise or specific health behaviour that you would like to introduce.
Below is an overview of what these three sessions may include:
Session 1- Assessment# and goal setting
- Identifying barriers
- Planning behaviours
- Review of goals
- Hypnosis for enhanced performance (you'll get a recording of this to continue using at home)
- Review of hypnosis
- Focussing on long term maintenance
- Relapse prevention

#If , in the assessment session, a mental health issue is identified that is making attaining goals difficult (such as depression or anxiety), you may be eligible for a mental health care plan to address those issues in further counselling. Our psychologists will discuss this with you and talk about options of addressing the mental health issue separately to this program.
